The climber Slovenian climber, Tomaz Humar, is currently trapped at about 5,900m on Nanga Parbat in Pakistan.

He was trying to put up a new route solo on the mountain but the weather moved in and he was forced to retreat.

The Slovenian government has appealed to the Pakistani government and military to try to get a more powerful helicopter to attempt a rescue, earlier, a weaker powered helicoptor flew to 6100m and took some photo's on Humar's location but were unable to drop supplies to him because of high winds.

More can be read on the BBC website

There is a possible weather window today (Tuesday) and it is hoped that there will be a suitable helicopter to attempt the rescue.

Dr Rob Milne, has died while trying to climb Everest. He was with the Jagged Globe expedition and was only 1,200 feet from the summit of the mountain.

This was Dr. Milne's last mountain in his challenge to climb the highest mountains on all seven continents.

For a full story head to this page on the BBC website

My thoughts go out to Mrs Milne and his family.
